I'm Good Now
===========================================
[Em] there was that time in west virginia when the cops showed
up when the shop blowed up where we didn’t know what was
gonna happen they messed the whole place up and tried to
kill my dad took all the money i had and what was really bad i
couldn’t do a damn thing to stop them
[C] i had to move to mexico to get [B7] away you reap the seeds
you sow or so they [Em] say i spent most nights hanging out
at a place called the [C] rainbow bar drinking [G] cervezas all
night [D] long singing [C] mexican love [G] songs getting [Em] all the
words all [C] wrong and not giving a [D] damn hoping [G] that my
luck might [D] change feeling [C] crazy acting [G] strange never
[Em] worrying about the [C] danger i was [D] in well i’ve had a [Em]
mighty bad [C] run of luck since [G] you left [D] town sometimes
you [Em] hit the [C] brakes but you [G] can’t slow [D] down i know
what i [Em] want on my damn [C] tombstone when they [G] put me
in the [D] ground tell them to [C] write it big and tall or not at all
just put [G] i’m [D] good [Em] now [C]
[G] i’m [D] good [D] now
[G] i’m [D] good [D] now
[G] i’m [D] good [D] now
[Em] well as the story goes things only got worse fell in love
with a nurse she smuggled drugs in her purse she worked for
doctor gonzales it turns out the doctor was a mighty mean
man who couldn’t understand how things could get out of
hand but then he had to find out though
[C] he tried to stop her one night well she pulled out a [B7] knife
there was a struggle and then somewhere in the [Em] end she
ran home and he lay there [C] dying thinking [G] about the things
he’d [D] done thinking [C] about his life and the [G] fun he’d had
and [C] choices that he’d made and roads he had [D] taken and
he [G] thought about his [D] kids and all the [C] crazy things he [G]
did and he wondered if [Em] anything [C] at all really [D] matters
when your [Em] life is almost [C] over and there’s [G] no hope to
be [D] found when you’re [Em] dying and the [C] blood is spilling [G]
out over the [D] ground and the [Em] last words he [C] said though
he [G] hardly made a [D] sound and he [C] spoke each word in
spanish cause he couldn’t speak no english
he said [G] i’m [D] good [Em] now [C]
[G] i’m [D] good [D] now
[G] i’m [D] good [D] now
[G] i’m [D] good [D] now
